What would you name your pet hedgehog?
More importantly, what would you feed your pet hedgehog? Would you feed it bugs?!
I had the absolute honor of pondering these questions and more with this cute-as-can-be family, who made the trek up to Colorado Springs from Texas for their family vacation this year. I absolutely love taking vacation photos for those coming into town. Colorado Springs is such a beautiful place to visit (and live!), and Garden of the Gods is a stunning location for extended family photos.
So much to explore, with something new at every turn.
Garden of the Gods is a must-see for your vacation to Colorado Springs, and what better way to capture the memory than an extended family photoshoot? I took Maegan and her family to one of my favorite spots in the park. There are SO many great options, and you can get SO many different backgrounds just by turning your feet in another direction.
A few of the highlights of our extended family photoshoot at Garden of the Gods were: getting all of the energy out by climbing as high as we could; seeing the snow (in the middle of June!) that was still on top of Pike's Peak, and pointing out the visitor's center, where this family rode the cog rail to the day before; teaching this family how to be stock photo models and practicing our "salad laughs;" and of course, hearing the kiddos' answers to the age-old question, "What would you feed your pet hedgehog."

Maegan and family -- thank you so much for choosing me to capture your family this summer! And the biggest THANK YOU for bringing that Texas sun with you. After a rainy (and snowy) start to your vacation, we finally got to see some good weather!
I loved meeting your kiddos, and seeing them come out of their shells over the course of our hour together. I loved seeing them interact with you, their aunts and uncles, and Poppy and Bella. And during our little hour together, I got a great glimpse of the connection and straight up fun your family has. I'd be so happy to work with you again!
