A little rain won't keep me away.
When did 300 days of sunshine turn into 300 days of rain? We have been having such an overcast spring and summer this year. I miss my Colorado sunshine, but the mild temperatures also feel really good!
I spent this cloudy Friday afternoon scouting for an upcoming extended family photo session at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs.
Something to see at every turn.
I love Garden of the Gods! It's so fun to visit, and look at all of the details. Even just in one spot you see something new every time you turn around. The clouds just make this place more magical, with Pike's Peak looking down at you through the clouds.
For today's "hike," I stuck around High Point Overlook, which is such a picturesque setting. You know it's true when there is not one, but two weddings going on at this spot while you are scouting! But not to fear if it's crowded on the day you visit. There are endless photo opportunities in this one little spot, that you almost feel secluded.
I'm lucky to be here.
It's places like Garden of the Gods that remind me how lucky I am to be here... To have followed my dream and moved to Colorado with my husband... To have made it thirty-something relatively healthy years in this crazy world... Just to be perched on this rock on a Friday afternoon, with the time and space to enjoy my surroundings.
